It is the policy of the Board to accommodate students of many nationalities. English proficiency is not an entrance requirement at Dhahran Academy Elementary/Middle School.

 

ISG RESERVES THE RIGHT TO EVALUATE EACH APPLICANT TO DETERMINE ACCEPTANCE AND APPROPRIATE PLACEMENT. PREVIOUS SCHOOL RECORDS WILL BE REVIEWED AND CONSIDERED IN DETERMINING GRADE PLACEMENT.

 

Dhahran Elementary Middle School will not accept students who, because of severe cognitive or physical disabilities require special education classes or services. If upon receipt of school records or present observations and testing, it becomes apparent that a student requires special services that Dhahran Elementary Middle School does not provide, parents will be notified. The school reserves the right to exclude a child for failure to satisfy entrance requirements of this policy.

 

New enrollees without previous school records will be placed according to chronological age and/or testing. The school reserves the right to reassign students upon receipt of previous school records and/or test results. The principal or designee, shall make the decisions pertaining to grade placement.

 

Age Requirements

 

Children may be admitted to Kindergarten if their 5th birthday falls before September 1 of the school year in which admission is sought.

 

Children may be admitted to Grade One if their 6th birthday falls before September 1 of the year in which admission is sought.

 

Immunization

 

Board Policy #2065 requires all students to meet the immunization requirements specified in this policy. The following immunizations are required and parents should make arrangements to ensure that they are completed: Meningitis, Diphtheria, Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Tetanus, Polio, Measles, Mumps, Rubella (German Measles) and Tuberculosis.
