Why Choose DEMS?
Thank you for your interest in Dhahran Elementary Middle School (DEMS), a fully accredited, not-for-profit school offering an American curriculum to culturally diverse students from Kindergarten to Grade 8. DEMS staff and students represent more than 40 nationalities. The school was founded in 1962 as a school for U.S. Consulate employees, and is now one of the three schools located adjacent to the American Consulate. DEMS is one of six schools in the Eastern Province, part of International Schools Group (ISG).
With an uncompromising commitment to educational excellence and a strong partnership with parents, our dedicated staff ensures optimal student learning in a safe, positive and nurturing environment.
Our qualified and experienced multi-national staff ensures that our students receive the very best in academic instruction. In addition to core classes, all elementary students participate in Music, Physical Education, Arabic and Art classes. Middle School students may select Art, Concert Band, Choir, and other electives developed based on the expertise and experience of our middle school faculty. Outside of the regular classroom, we are pleased to offer excellent after school activities.
Most students join us at the start of the academic year (August), but rolling admissions allows families to continue to apply throughout the school year.
We continue to accept applications for the 2019-20 academic year against available seats. Please contact the DEMS Registrar for specific instructions to proceed.
Every applicant for DEMS must be assessed before they are admitted to the school. This assessment is to determine the most successful placement of the applicant. Assessments in-Kingdom are by appointment only. An assessment is not a guarantee of acceptance.
