Mrs. Hunt and Mr. Karsten will begin hosting a monthly parent education session to help support our parents in our community. The format of sessions will be informal in nature with the goal of learning as a community. Mr. Karsten and Mrs. Hunt will act as facilitators but want to promote a collaborative culture during this time.
This month our topic for discussion will be Parenting Third Culture Kids (TCKs).
Third culture kids are persons raised in a culture other than their parents' or the culture of the country named on their passport for a significant part of their early development years.
This session will focus on TCK characteristics, benefits, challenges, and offer practical support for parents.

Middle School Parenting Resource: Third Culture Kids Article
Another role of the school counselor is parent education. We will use this section to highlight themes you and your child may be experiencing throughout their middle school years. Please feel free to reach out to one another or me if you would like to explore any of these topics further. This week we focus on exploring more of the parenting implications of Third Culture Kids.
