We have had a fabulous start to the new school year and I cannot believe we are already in October! Unfortunately, the weather has not been on our side lately and we are still having many indoor recess times. Where possible we do get the kids outside for their morning recess, but often at lunch time, it is still too hot. All elementary students have been great at remembering their hats and water bottles. We appreciate your continued support with this.
October brings the start of some fun holiday celebrations. Our first DEMS celebration will be Halloween. We will celebrate this on Thursday, October 24th. This will be the last day before our October break. We will have class parties and activities in the afternoon, followed by an elementary Halloween parade, just before home time. Parents are of course welcome to come to this. Your class teachers will post more detailed information on google classrooms about this over the next couple of weeks.
On Sunday, 4th November and Monday, 5th November we will be taking individual photos. This will be the Sunday and Monday following our October break; so set your reminders now.
However, before all of this, I look forward to seeing you at Parent Teacher Conferences on either the 16th or 19th of October!
